Hi, my name is Chris Tyburski, vice president for higher education consulting here at Encoura, bringing you today's Enrollminute.

This is a busy time of year, and just like a pilot in flight, you need to check all of your gauges to make sure that you're on track to land this class and exceed your enrollment goals. Let's look at what some of our clients are doing to achieve exactly that.

First, take a look at your historic funnel over time for the past two or three years between now and the end of your recruitment cycle. This will give you a better idea of how you're pacing and also what you can expect to see in terms of increases in applications, deposits, FAFSA filers, orientation registrations, and such between now and the end of the cycle.

Two, if there are any gaps, run an enrollment funnel simulator to see what the impact will be on your class and to figure out exactly how much of a change you need to make right now in order to successfully achieve your goals.

And then third, figure out what tactics you can take to make those adjustments in flight. It could be digitally engaging certain students, it could be making phone calls to the households, or it could be bringing new students into the top of the funnel right now if you're on rolling admissions.

Alright captain, let's run through that checklist again and see exactly what we need to do to land this class successfully.

  1. First, check your funnel over time to see exactly what you should expect over the next couple months and to see if you're currently on track or if you need to make changes.
  2. If you need to make changes, run some simulations on your funnel simulator to make sure that you know exactly what you need to do.
  3. And then three, deploy the right tactics like digital engagement, phone calls, additional search, or whatever it may be to make sure that you can achieve your goals and land the class successfully.
